Before learning how to filter spam ourselves, we literally spent weeks researching the latest and most effective spam blocking technologies and then tested to see how effective the different spam filters really were for various email applications. What we were looking for had to work the first time out. We didn't want to chase our tail and run around in circles.

Frankly, things didn't work out as we had hoped - there's a lot of spam email info to digest in the learning process. What's more, the valuable time we invested isn't time most people want to spend doing this type of investigatory work themselves. So in the spirit of the web, we decided to tell you what we found out.

We've decided to gather our notes, make this project an ongoing effort (until someone figures out how to kill it altogether), and document our findings as we learn even more. Along the way we'll share this info with you by explaining what you need to know in easy-to-understand, plain English so you can make educated spam-control decisions with your own best interests in mind.
